The CareFUND is a non-profit organization dedicated to supporting HHS team members through life’s most challenging moments, including natural disasters and personal hardships.
Jim Spry, HHS’ founder, created the CareFUND to help team members overcome those challenges.
How It Works
Any HHS employee can apply for assistance. The CareFUND, managed by a committee of HHS team members and leaders, then reviews the application. If approved, they determine how to assist the team member.
The CareFUND is largely funded by donations from within our organization. Donating is optional — team members do not have to contribute to receive help. The committee also connects recipients with community organizations and resources to help them stay on their feet.
Real Stories, Real Impact
From rent to utility bills, the CareFUND provides relief when it’s needed most.
Rebuilding After a Fire
When a team member’s kitchen was destroyed by fire, it not only wiped out their appliances and food but also displaced their family. Without home insurance or the funds to recover, they faced an overwhelming situation.
The CareFUND stepped in with crucial support for groceries, rent, and essential appliances. This gift helped them begin to rebuild and regain stability during a difficult time.
In Desperate Need of Transportation
A team member's car broke down due to a transmission failure. As a single mother, this car was her only viable way of getting to work as well as taking her kids to and from school.
The CareFUND assisted with some household bills to offset the cost of a new transmission, helping this single mom get back on her feet.
Relief During Recovery
A team member suffered a heart attack and was diagnosed with congestive heart failure, leading to weeks of missed work during recovery.
The CareFUND eased the financial burden of the lost income by helping with household bills. This support allowed the team member to focus on healing with peace of mind.
