HHS Teams Up with Austin Angels to Spread Holiday Joy

Though the holidays are behind us, the spirit of giving remains a core part of who we are at HHS. In December, we partnered with Austin Angels to spread holiday cheer to local foster children through a special gift drive — reminding us all of the joy that comes from giving back.

How We Made the Magic Happen

We carefully curated each child’s wish list (and checked it twice!) to ensure they’d have plenty of attentive Santas shopping for them. Departments were paired up and assigned a “Gift Drive Coordinator” to help keep everything on track. We used a shared Google Sheet for easy gift claiming, ensuring that no wish went unfulfilled. It was an organized, team-driven effort that made the entire process seamless and fun.

The Joy of Giving

This gift drive had the happy unexpected bonus of bringing people together. As departments shopped for gifts, they reminisced about their own childhood favorites and enjoyed collaborating across teams. The shared laughter and connections made this experience truly special.

The Big Day: Delivering the Holiday Spirit

As the deadline approached, our office transformed into a Santa’s workshop, with gifts neatly sorted and ready to be delivered to each child. Watching the pile of presents grow under the tree, we were reminded of the power of teamwork and generosity.

When the Austin Angels arrived to pick up the gifts, we couldn’t wait to showcase all the hard (and fun!) work we had put into making this drive a success.

Reflecting on the Spirit of Giving

The day the gifts were picked up was filled with pride and excitement. Knowing that our collective efforts would bring joy to children in need was the greatest reward of all. It was a powerful reminder of how much we can accomplish when we come together to make a difference.
