A patient at a facility in Little Rock, Arkansas, was pleasantly surprised by the high quality of food he received during his recent stay at the hospital. As a pescatarian, he was unable to eat many items on the regular menu, but HHS Chef Aaron Shelton greeted the patient and his wife and personally prepared meals for them that were in line with their dietary requirements. Below is an excerpt from a letter that the patient sent to the hospital after his stay to thank them for the excellent care and amazing food.
"We had salmon, sea bass, and an asparagus pasta dish with a white wine butter-garlic sauce. My taste buds are still tingling."
My wife and I are pescatarian. When handed a menu, I explained there was nothing on the menu we could eat. I said no problem, my wife could get us food every day. Very soon, in walks Aaron Shelton, Executive Chef. He explained he has a new menu coming out soon and he would love the opportunity to try some of the new recipes on us. He met with us daily. He personally prepared our meals. We had salmon, sea bass, and an asparagus pasta dish with a white wine butter-garlic sauce. My taste buds are still tingling. As great as this place is, Aaron Shelton kicked it up a notch. We wanted to take him home with us. If you didn’t already know it, you have a real treasure in him.
