HHS Registered Dietitian Valerie Eberlin, who works at a medical facility in Arcadia, Florida, often receives praise from patients for her caring and attentive demeanor.
"The service provided by Valerie truly impacted this patient in a positive way. I feel very fortunate to work with someone who diligently educates and assists our patient population."
Recently, a patient shared her thanks and admiration for Valerie with the Beth Henry, the quality/infection control coordinator at the facility. The patient, who has visited several area hospitals, has chosen this facility for her care even though it is located farther away from her home. The patient is diabetic and has had some difficulty managing the disease. Valerie spent a lot of time with the patient and has set up appointments to continue support after discharge.
Beth says, “The patient could not have been more appreciative of the teaching and the time Valerie spent helping her. The comment was, ‘I know now I can manage this. I wasn't sure before. I feel…’ I said, ‘Empowered?’ and the patient said, ‘Exactly!’ The service provided by Valerie truly impacted this patient in a positive way. I feel very fortunate to work with someone who diligently educates and assists our patient population.”
