Infection prevention has always been a core part of HHS’ environmental services. So, when a partner facility in Houston, Texas decided to hold an infection prevention contest, it wasn’t a surprise that an HHS team member won the facility’s first-ever Infection Prevention Champion award.
The infection prevention team at the hospital noticed HHS team member MariCruz Quintanilla going above and beyond to make sure patients and staff remained safe. Here’s what the hospital’s newsletter had to say about MariCruz’s work:
“Infection prevention noticed MariCruz going the extra mile for patient satisfaction when she was taking time to clean the empty rooms on 6S when the floor was shut down. She took this opportunity to check everything thoroughly on her own accord. Not only was she going above and beyond with her housekeeping, but she was also foaming her hands outside every room. Way to go MariCruz!!! We are so glad you are a part of [our] family!”
