Lance Marrero joined HHS as a member of the custodial team at Clemson University in January 2023. He quickly proved his worth and dedication, earning promotions that catapulted him to the position of assistant director by May of the same year.
Reflecting on his rise within the company, Lance stated, "My motivation stems from the desire to depend on myself, and the fact that I absolutely love this company makes working here just not feel like work." His passion for HHS is evident in his unwavering commitment and the results he has achieved.
When asked about his advice for fellow team members, Lance shared, "I would say show up every day with the mindset that someone else can do your job better. This will give you the drive to work so hard that it will show in your work and dedication that you will do big things."
What Lance enjoys most about his job at HHS is the exceptional support he receives from everyone in the organization. He holds his director, Larry Kuhn, in the highest regard, saying, "Larry is by far the best member of management I have ever worked with in my life." The open communication and prompt resolution of any concerns have created a nurturing work environment that fuels Lance's ambition.
Lance's background and experience have played a role in shaping his work ethic and determination. From being a retail area director to managing restaurants, he had traversed various fields. Prior to joining HHS, he even embarked on an entrepreneurial venture, which had its highs and lows. Seeking stability, he explored apartment management briefly before stumbling upon an opportunity at HHS.
One fateful day, Lance found himself scrolling through job listings on Indeed after submitting countless applications. Among the sea of options, an HHS posting caught his eye. He wasted no time in applying and was pleasantly surprised when he received a message the next day inviting him for an interview. From that moment forward, his journey with HHS began, and he poured his heart and soul into his work.
"I have fun at work every day; I even work on days off, and if you knew me, you would know that that never happens," Lance admitted. HHS had become more than just a workplace for him—it was a place where he thrived, finding fulfillment and joy in the work he did.
As Lance Marrero continues to climb at HHS, his dedication and passion shine brightly. His success is a testament to his unwavering commitment, the invaluable support he receives, and his unyielding drive to achieve greatness.
