Vice President of Patient Transport Willie Johnson was visiting an HHS partner facility in Baton Rouge, Louisiana when he encountered an emergency situation. He found a guest lying on the ground, unresponsive.
He immediately began providing basic life support and observed that the individual was still breathing. He alerted a nearby nursing director, and together they went to work. Director of EVS Stephen Elsenrath came to help and saw that the guest was beginning to seize, so he ran to get more help as someone else fetched a stretcher. The guest was then transported to the emergency department.
Thanks to quick action by Willie and all others involved, the guest was successfully treated and later discharged without injury.
