Sheila Hawkins has over 16 years of experience in the healthcare industry. In 2010, working as a housekeeper, Sheila’s director inspired her to approach each day with a positive attitude and with more attention to detail. This prepared her to take advantage of the career advancement opportunities that would be presented to her down the road.
In July 2019, the patient ambassador position became available at Sheila’s facility. Her coworkers told the director that she would be a perfect fit for the job, and they encouraged Sheila to apply. She got the job, and quickly made an impact. The facility saw significant improvement in their patient satisfaction scores during her time as patient ambassador.
In January 2020, Sheila had another opportunity for career growth. The assistant director position opened up at her facility, and she decided to take a leap of faith. She applied and was offered the position. She is truly a difference maker and an incredible leader of her team at her facility in Louisiana.
