From a hospital housekeeper to an assistant director at our resort partner in Destin, Florida, Jarrod
Travis is no stranger to learning the ropes and being adaptable to new challenges.
Jarrod joined HHS in 2016 working as a housekeeper at a hospital in Niceville, Florida. That’s where he connected with his director early on to learn how he could improve his worth in the company. In 2017, he was promoted to supervisor and continued to seek additional training.
That’s when a new position caught his attention and he moved from the healthcare division to resorts as a housekeeping inspector. Although this was different from the hospital, Jarrod took it as a challenge and immersed himself in all things resorts. He was quickly promoted to supervisor and after only seven months in that role, he was promoted to assistant director.
“I feel whenever you start from the bottom at a company and work up to a salaried position it shows the company’s dedication to promoting from within.”
What drives Jarrod?
“I wouldn’t be in the position I am today if it wasn’t for my beautiful wife and two awesome kids. They push me to be the best man/worker I can be. I also have to thank my mom and dad for instilling in me a great work ethic as well as a mindset to never give up and keep pushing to succeed.”
