In Savannah, Georgia, team member Joe Simmons was doing his rounds in his unit when a visitor approached him and expressed concern for her husband, who was a patient. Joe rushed into the patient’s room alongside a nurse and quickly realized that the patient was in distress.
The nurse called for a code blue, and Joe asked if he should start CPR. The nurse instructed him to proceed, and he performed CPR until the code team arrived and took over. Clinical Nurse Manager Shelly Hudson recognized Joe for his hard work and good quality CPR that helped to save the patient’s life.
