The moisture and humidity in your bathroom makes an ideal place for mold to grow and flourish. Not only is mold unsightly, but in severe cases it can also lead to health issues. Luckily, you can battle mold with inexpensive, household products. Here are a few simple tips to removing bathroom mold without the use of harmful chemicals.
Things you’ll need:
- Mild white vinegar
- Spray bottle
- Baking soda
- Water
- Microfiber cloth, scouring pad, or hard-bristle toothbrush
- Gloves
Steps for removing mold:
- Add the vinegar to the spray bottle without diluting it.
- Spray bathroom surfaces with the vinegar and allow to sit for one hour.
- Turn on vent fans, open the bathroom doors and windows, and allow the bathroom to air out.
- After an hour, wipe the area clean using the microfiber cloth and hot water.
- If the mold is still present, mix three parts baking soda with one part water to form a paste.
- Apply the mixture to any hard-to-remove mold and scrub using either the microfiber cloth, scouring pad, or hard-bristle toothbrush. Repeat the process as needed.
- Once the affected areas are clean, rinse the surface with hot water and thoroughly dry.
