HHS Culinary Director Tracy-Ann Mitchell was awarded 2nd runner-up in Jif’s UnJifingBelievable Contest. JifⓇ received over 40 entries in their first-ever contest, and Tracy-Ann’s recipe for sweet potato and peanut butter ice cream stood out as a top contender.
Tracy-Ann received a prize package and professional photos of her dish. Her award-winning recipe will be featured in Jif’s recipe book, debuting in early 2023, and is highlighted on the “Jif That Dish” menu wheel.
Using Jif Peanut Butter as the main ingredient, she combined it with coconut and sweet potato to bring the perfect combination of sweet and savory.
Tracy-Ann was born and raised in Jamaica, where food was an integral part of her life — from growing it to eating it and everything in between. When she began her career, the food service industry felt right. After immigrating to the United States, she earned her Associate in Culinary Arts and then her Bachelor of Arts in Food Service Management. Shortly thereafter, she joined HHS and currently serves as the culinary director at a large hospital in Louisiana.
