HHS’ Linen Utilization Management (LUM) program, launched in 2014, was developed to assist hospitals across the United States with an issue plaguing the industry — the overuse, misuse, and cost of linen.
Since its inception, LUM has helped hospitals reduce linen usage by more than 68 million pounds while providing significant cost savings — often reaching six figures.
