HHS EVS Director Willie Nash and Housekeeper Margaret Waggett were recently featured in an article written by UCHealth highlighting their bravery in the fight against COVID-19. Support service team members are silent heroes who are manning their posts and saving lives.

HHS CEO Brian Weed shares his appreciation of support service team members,“To the countless individuals putting others’ needs before their own, thank you for your commitment to the safety and wellbeing of our communities. The role that you play is always important, but now more than ever, your dedication will enable us to overcome this challenge together. Thank you for the essential work you do to keep us all safe.”

From the article:

“When it came time to clean the first room where a patient positive for COVID-19 was cared for, Nash and Margaret Waggett, a housekeeper for nearly 15 years at Memorial, didn’t hesitate to don protective equipment and thoroughly clean and sterilized the room. Nash has not taken a day off in 28 days since COVID erupted in Colorado. He rises at 3 a.m. every morning, and heads to the hospital where he works 12- to 14-hour shifts. “My drive is this,’’ he said. “My wife, my two kids, they know this is the fire that burns me. My agenda in my life is not to put anyone else in a bed that I wouldn’t put but my father in.’’
